1. Jesus sentenced to death by jealous Jewish rulers (27:1-2)

2. Judas sentenced to death by a guilty conscience (27:3-10)

3. Jesus found innocent by a ruthless Roman ruler (27:11-23)

4. Jesus sentenced to death by a cornered coward (27:24-26)

Big idea: Just as the lambs that were sacrificed at the Jewish Passover were first examined for any defect, Jesus, the Lamb of God, was examined by His enemies before His death – and found to be holy and blameless.
